Please note, Ancile’s policies do not provide cover for cancellation, abandonment or curtailment claims if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all or “all but essential” travel. Ancile’s policies will also not cover any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus, COVID-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-COV-2), any mutation of Coronavirus, COVID-19 or SARs-COV-2 or any pandemic or fear or threat of any the above. Ancile also can not cover any claims relating to any fear or threat concerning these viruses.
This general exclusion applies to all sections of cover except for the Emergency Medical Expenses section.
Important: Ancile’s policies will not provide any cover whilst the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) are advising against travel. (On 17 March the FCO advised against all but essential international travel for at least 30 days.)

These include angina, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, high cholesterol, ischaemic stroke, and haemorrhagic stroke. Ancile can also cover you if you’ve had a stroke. Certain conditions and exclusions apply. Please read the policy wording for full terms and conditions.
QWhat happens if I lose my prescription medication while travelling?
AAncile Insurance’s travel policy covers you for the emergency replacement of prescribed medication.
QI need travel insurance for my child who has a disability or medical condition. Will your policy cover them?
AAncile’s holiday insurance not only covers individuals, but can also cover children and families anywhere in the world.
QI travel with a carer. What happens if they are taken ill?
AAs one of the UK’s leading and longest established disability insurance specialist, we understand how many people depend on the services or a professional assistant or carer. For this reason, we are introducing customers to Ancile Insurance who can cover you for the emergency replacement of a carer should they be unable to support you through illness, accident, or injury.
QHow much does travel insurance cost for people with medical conditions and disabilities?
AThis depends on several factors including what the disability or condition is, where you are looking to travel, and how long the cover is for. Ancile specialise in insurance for people with disabilities and pre-existing medical conditions. This means Ancile have the expertise to always try to get you the right cover for the right price.
QWhat disabilities and medical conditions affect travel insurance?
AWhen applying for travel insurance, you will need to tell your insurer about any disabilities or medical conditions you may have. If you refuse to declare these conditions, and then need to make a claim as a result of them, your insurance could be invalid.
QWhy do I need a travel insurance medical policy?
AWe are aware that many people with disabilities or medical conditions often struggle to find suitable or affordable travel insurance. As a result, many choose to travel without declaring their disability or purchasing insurance at all, putting their health at risk and raising the possibility of huge medical bills. It is the firm advice of the government and tour operators that you do not travel without suitable insurance in place. We aim to ensure you can follow that advice by introducing you to Ancile Insurance, who can provide affordable travel insurance for most conditions and disabilities.
