PA Pool
PA Pool was founded in 2007 by Katy Etherington, a full time wheelchair user who requires personal assistance around the clock. It was borne from Katy’s personal experience of the difficulties in finding suitable support to enable her to pursue a more independent lifestyle.
Katy used her experience to create an online service which allows people to quickly and easily identify personal assistants who can meet their specific care needs. Now with 10,000 registered users, www.papool.co.uk is the UK’s number one online resource for disabled or elderly people looking to recruit professional carers.
Registration is simple and affordable and allows you to create a personal profile, either as a PA User or a PA seeking employment. The site features both quick and detailed search functions to cater for the many and varied levels of assistance that disabled and elderly users require. It also enables users to safely and securely contact PAs through the site, before arranging any direct communication. The ability to receive and make recommendations also ensures users can recruit with greater confidence.
Subscription costs, which start at just £5, also compare most favourably against standard recruitment advertising platforms – and can be funded through Direct Payments.
The benefits to PAs are equally clear. By enabling them to advertise their specific skills, experience and availability, the site acts not simply as a “shop window” but an advanced and speedy recruitment matching service.
