This national organisation offers a network of some 130 local Disability Information and Advice Line services (DIALs). These offer a range of free advice on benefits, community care, independent living, equipment, mobility and transport, discrimination and holidays. Many of the trained volunteers and staff at DIAL are themselves disabled.

A registered charity promoting and supporting independent living. Provides free advice and referrals on issues such as accessible holidays, funding for equipment and support groups. Its holistic approach means it advises and offers conventional and complementary therapies and treatments. Services include a children’s sensory room which helps develop sensory and motor skills for physically disabled/special needs children as well as specialist complementary therapies for children.

Founded by Don and William McQueen out of Don’s sheer frustration at being unable to easily find relevant information for his disabled son. Among its features are an accessible accommodation search facility, details of accessible places to eat and visit and information on products and services for disabled people.

CRDCs Centre for Independent Living is staffed by disabled people for disabled people, their families, carers, personal assistants and professionals working with them. Advice is offered on the law, rights, education, social services, transport, holidays, personal matters and more.

Scotland’s National Disability Information Service. Aimed at those providing services to disabled people as well as members of the public. Fee paying members enjoy privileges and discounts.
