For those of you looking to pursue greater independence by sourcing your own care and support under the government’s Direct Payments policy, we have also provided an overview of the scheme, who it applies to and how it works. In addition you can download our free Home Care Safety handbook, an essential guide for personal assistants and carers on how to minimise the risk of accidents and injuries. We strongly recommend that you provide this guide to anyone you employ to care for you in your home and ask them to acknowledge in writing that they have received it.
